Casechek Secures Seed Investment

Casechek secures seed investment for surgery coordination and inventory management solution
Software application helps healthcare providers improve efficiency and safety

Casechek, a Chicago-based developer of healthcare technology used by hospitals to automate the coordination and management of instruments and implants for surgical procedures, has received a seed investment of $1.1 million led by investment firm TLSG, Inc. The company will use the funding to accelerate enhancements for its deployed product, and to expand sales and marketing efforts.

Casechek enhances the ability of healthcare providers to coordinate with vendors and ensure the availability, delivery, and sterilization of inventory for surgical procedures. Many surgeries that utilize medical devices, such as orthopedic implants, require last-minute delivery of surgical tools from the device manufacturer to the hospital before the procedure. This places significant strain on the hospital staff and increases the risk of processing errors. In the absence of systems, hospitals are forced to coordinate and manage this inventory manually.

“Hospitals using Casechek benefit from a user-friendly solution that automates and streamlines inventory procurement and management. This eliminates distractions and allows surgical teams to stay focused on their number one priority of patient care,” said Casechek founder and CEO Matt Brandt.

Casechek has established a growing customer base ranging from standalone community hospitals to Level 1 trauma centers. Hospital teams access the Casechek system via desktop or mobile application and can identify potential issues and track inventory in real time. The improved collaboration and information flow allows perioperative teams to reduce inventory errors and decrease delays in start times for procedures.

“Quality improvement and cost reduction are top of mind among health care providers across the country, and as surgical operations continue to increase in complexity, we are confident that Casechek will provide a valuable solution to a growing number of hospitals using technology to address these critical priorities,” said Michael Sachs, Chairman of TLSG, Inc.
